December 2020 marks the label's fifth anniversary. Thus — rather contemplative and subtle — we'll set the rest of the year under the sign of the label's birthday by celebrating these five rounds around the sun in five different ways. Reflecting on the past years, enjoying current developments and reaching out into the label's future.
The Looking Glass Looks Back *
Head first we're diving into our celebrations with a physical reissue (or better call it a 'rediscovery') of our first release "Black Box N" that will be available from december 11th, the date of our KRX001 release night 'Viva la Virtù' at Complex-23 in 2015, two days prior to the official release. Taking shape as a limited run of 25 unique artefacts, this 'rediscovery' — a batch of DVDs from the original 2015 pressing which survived the years — comes housed in an eye-burning 720g/m2 premium sleeve made from the initial 2015 neon cardboard material refined with embossed numbering inside the sleeve and is shipped (december 15th) with an additional download code for sharing at your pleasure.

Beyond Language **
'Black Box N' — the label's debut release and first compilation — right away made it into the 'Best of 2015' list curated by Igloo Magazine which continously keeps supporting the label with features and reviews until this day and hopefully way beyond. Now, on the occasion of the label's anniversary it was given to catch up with Igloo and instigate a little special (→ KRX036 IGLOO-MAG PRE-RELEASE SPECIAL). Open-mindedly as always, Igloo Mag furthermore brought an extra idea to the table — which leads us to the second part of our celebrations — Igloo Magazine's 'Five Questions' to Kaer'Uiks.
Flickering Shades ***
Inextricably linked to KRX' first output are our live-event activities before (and leading to) the official start of the label. With 'krux' we gathered artists we simply wanted to experience live and built first connections to the scene which sharpened the vision of forming a record label. One of these events — 'Xylogic Core' a live performance by Sorin Paun aka Wirewound — provides part three of our celebrations. Three freshly restored live-sets of the 'Xylogic Core' series happening between 2013 and 2014 in germany and italy.

Paving the way from retrospection to future prospects, we are very glad that we managed to win 'old fox' and electronic music advocate Barry Forbes (Up Digital / Sedna Sessions / +++) to create a mind-boggling, twisted and captivating '5 Years Kaer'Uiks Anniversary Mix' — part four of this year's extended label birthday bash.
Feet On The Ground And My Head Towards Heaven *****
Rounding up to a 'high five' of celebratory acts for our jubilee we are kicking off a new series of recordings under the title 'SIM'. An open field of experimentation — offering a platform for new ideas, exchange and collaboration — venturing a careful glimpse into the near future of Kaer'Uiks. Further details on 'SIM' and first contributions to be revealed successively throughout december.
Big shoutouts to all KRX artists, friends & affiliates of the label, listeners and supporters. We wish you pleasant festive days and a smooth transition into the year 2021 — despite all necessary caution, with confidence and faith, we are here to stick around a bit longer — Thank you and stand by!
